Whether you’re looking for music, sound effects, footage, templates, or AI generated assets, downloading assets from Artlist is a simple and user-friendly process. This article explains where to find your downloads, how to access your asset licenses and cue sheets, the daily download limit, and how watermarked downloads work.
Where to find your downloads
After downloading an asset, it is stored locally on your device, typically in your Downloads folder unless a different location has been selected.
You can also view and re-download any asset you’ve downloaded in the past by visiting the Downloads in Artlist.
This section is organized according to asset type and includes:
- Download history
- Redownload links
- Associated license certificates
Your download history is tied to your account, not your device, so you can access it anytime by logging in from any computer.
- In the sidebar of the homepage, click Downloads.
- In the Navigation menu, select the asset type you want to access.
You will be directed to your collection of downloads.
If you can’t find the asset on your device, easily redownload the assets.
- For Music, SFX, and Voiceovers, click the download icon.
- For Clips, Templates, LUTs, AI Image and Video, hover and click the Check icon.
💡 Pro Tip : Downloads can be filtered according to ‘All Time’, ‘Yesterday’, ‘Last 7 days’, and ‘Last 30 days’
Note: While your subscription is active, assets from the Downloads section don’t count towards your daily download amount. Once the subscription expires, assets are no longer accessible from the site.
How to access an asset license and cue sheet
Songs, sound effects, footage clips, and templates all come with an asset-specific license. This document serves as proof that you downloaded the asset while your subscription was active and are authorized to use it in your projects accordingly. For music assets, cue sheets, standardized documents used in the film and TV industry to report music usage to performance rights organizations, are also available. As soon as you download them they will go straight to your device

How many assets can be downloaded in a day
According to our license, the number of daily downloads a day needs to be ‘reasonable’. Let’s take a look at what reasonable means:
Music & SFX
- With a Pro or Social license plan that includes Music and/or SFX, up to 40 songs and 100 SFX can be downloaded every day.
Footage and Templates
- With a Footage & Templates or Max plan, up to 100 clips and 40 templates can be downloaded every day.
AI Voiceover and Image and Video generation
- With any active plan that includes AI voiceover, image, and video generation, there is a set amount of monthly credits to generate AI assets. You can download as many AI generated assets as you want. There isn't a daily limit.
LUTs
- With a Footage & Templates or Max plan, you can download up to 40 LUTs each day.
Plugins
- When you download and install the Hub, there is no daily download for plugins.
Note: Downloads from the Downloads section do not count towards the daily download amount.
Why are some downloads watermarked?
Watermarked assets are preview versions of music and footage that include an audio voiceover for music and a visual mark for footage to protect the asset from unauthorized use before a license is purchased.
- With a Free Trial, watermarked previews of music and footage can be downloaded.
- With a Music or Music & SFX plan, watermarked footage can be downloaded.
- With a Footage & Templates plan, watermarked previews of music can be downloaded.
Commonly asked questions
What happens to my downloads after my subscription expires?
While your subscription is active, assets, asset licenses, and cue sheet information can be downloaded from the Downloads section. Once the subscription expires assets, asset licenses, and cue sheet information are no longer licensed for use and cannot be downloaded from the site.
After resubscribing, access to previous downloads, asset licenses, and cue sheet information will be fully restored.
I can’t download all asset types and some are watermarked. Why?
To download assets you need to have a paid subscription. Make sure that the asset being downloaded is included in your subscription.
For example:
- A Music or Music & SFX plan only includes Music and SFX. All downloaded footage will include a watermark.
- A Footage and Templates plan only includes footage and templates. All downloaded Music and SFX will include a watermark.
If the issue persists:
- Delete any previously-downloaded versions from your device, including from the trash bin.
- Sign into your active account and re-download the asset.
- Check that you haven’t reached your daily download limit.
I’ve downloaded my maximum number of assets for the day. When does the counter refresh?
The daily counter is refreshed at midnight UTC.
Where are my AI generations stored?
AI creations are stored in the My Creation tab under AI Voiceover or AI Image and Video.
I’m getting an error when trying to download my asset license. What should i do?
If you’re seeing an error when downloading a song license, try the following steps:
- Re-download the track.
- Refresh the page.
- Attempt to download the license again.
This usually fixes the issue, which can happen if the track was downloaded during a previous billing cycle or if details about the track have been updated since your last download.
