What are LUTs?
Artlist’s LUTs (Look-Up Tables) are color grading files that help to quickly transform the look and feel of video footage. A LUT acts like a preset for a video’s colors, tones, and contrast, giving content a polished, cinematic look in just a few clicks, with no advanced color correction skills required.
Artlist offers a curated collection of high-quality LUTs designed by professional colorists for a wide range of moods, genres, and camera profiles.
LUTs save time in post-production by providing ready-made color grades that instantly enhance footage. They help with:
- Creating a consistent style: Apply the same look across multiple shots or entire projects
- Matching different cameras: Balance colors between clips shot with different cameras
- Adding cinematic depth: Give your videos a professional, film-like finish

How to filter LUTS
Artlist’s LUT filters help you quickly find the perfect look for your footage by letting you narrow down options based on Style, Tone, Saturation, Temperature, and Contrast, making it easy to match your video’s mood, genre, and visual vibe in just a few clicks.
To filter by Style and Tone, click the dropdown menus and select a category in each:
- The Style parameter groups LUTs by their overall visual aesthetic or cinematic theme. This lets you choose a look that aligns with the genre, vibe, or storytelling style such as ‘Cinematic’, ‘Pop’, ‘Retro’, and ‘Modern.’
- The Tone parameter focuses on the emotional feel and color temperature the LUT brings to your footage. It helps refine your style choice by dialing in the mood you want your visuals to communicate. Choose from moods such as ‘Dramatic’, ‘Bold’, ‘Hopeful’, and ‘Bleak’.
Click Filters on the right to adjust by Contrast, Saturation, and Temperature.
- The Saturation filter sorts LUTs by how intense or muted their colors are. Choose between ‘Low’, ‘Medium’, or ‘High’.
- The Temperature filter controls the overall warmth or coolness the LUT will apply to your footage’s color palette. Choose between ‘Cool’, ‘Neutral’, and ‘Warm’.
- The Contrast filter lets you find LUTs based on how much they boost the difference between light and dark areas in your footage. Choose between ‘Low’, ‘Medium’, and ‘High’.

Understanding Color Space for LUTs
All LUTs in our catalog are designed in the Rec. 709 color space, which is the standard color profile for high-definition video production. This color space is widely compatible across video editing software and is ideal for most broadcast and web-based projects, as it reproduces colors accurately for HD displays. Using Rec. 709 ensures your projects maintain consistent, professional color quality across various platforms.
