Artlist’s Artboards are a powerful way to organize, curate, and manage your creative assets.
Its AI-powered features let you quickly gather music, sound effects, and visuals, while intelligently suggesting assets that fit your project’s style and mood. Use Artboard to keep all your selections in one place, refine them as you go, and streamline the path from concept to final edit. This article explains how to create, work with, and add assets to an Artboard from across the platform.
What are Artboards?
Artboards are customizable collections where assets from across Artlist can be grouped and saved. Think of them as digital moodboards for projects—ideal for organizing music, sound effects, footage clips, templates, LUTs, and AI-generated voiceover, images, and video.
You can:
- Save and organize assets for a specific project or campaign
- Access AI-powered asset recommendations based on Artboard descriptions and board content
How to create an Artboard from the sidebar
- In the sidebar on the homepage, go to Artboards.
- In the sidebar, click the plus icon.
- Describe the project or click Create a blank Artboard.
- Click Get Suggestions. Artlist’s AI will suggest similar or complementary assets based on the description, helping discover content that fits the creative vision.
How to create an Artboard from the asset catalogs
- In the sidebar on the homepage, navigate to the desired asset type.
- Browse the catalogs and find the desired asset.
- Click the more icon.
- Click Add to Artboard.
- Create an Artboard from scratch or add to an already existing Artboard.
How to share an Artboard
Once an Artboard is created, it can be shared with anyone.
- In the sidebar on the homepage, open the desired Artboard.
- Click the share icon.
- Choose to send by Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, email or copy the link.
Note: Individual assets on an Artboard can also be shared. Simply click the more icon on each asset and select Share.
How to add assets to an Artboard
- In the sidebar on the homepage, click the desired asset catalog.
- Browse assets.
- When the desired asset is found, click the more icon next to the music, SFX, or AI-generated voiceover asset and select Add to Artboard. For clips, templates, LUTs, and AI-generated images and video, hover over the asset thumbnail, click the more icon, and select Add to Artboard.
- Select the Artboard destination for the asset.
How to add suggested assets to an Artboard
Suggested assets align with the content already on your Artboard or the theme you're working on. They include music, footage, and SFX that complement your project..
- In the sidebar on the homepage, open the desired Artboard.
- Explore the Suggested assets.
- Click the plus icon
to add the desired assets to the Artboard.
How to add Favorites to Artboards
- In the sidebar on the homepage, click Favorites.
- Browse assets, using the top menu of asset types.
- When the desired asset is found, click the more icon next to the music, SFX, or AI-generated Voiceover asset and select Add to Artboard. For Clips, Templates, LUTs, and AI-generated Images and Video, hover over the asset thumbnail, click the more icon, and select Add to Artboard.
- Select the Artboard destination for the asset.
How to download assets from an Artboard
- In the sidebar on the homepage, open the desired Artboard.
- Click the download icon or hover over the asset thumbnail to reveal the download icon.
- Choose your preferred format (where applicable, such as MP3 or WAV for audio).
- The file will be saved directly to your device.
Once downloaded, the icon will turn yellow, indicating the asset has been downloaded.
How to update the description of an Artboard
You can update an Artboard’s description and get refreshed Suggested assets.
- In the sidebar on the homepage, open the desired Artboard.
- Click Change Description.
- Update the description in the description box.
- Click Update Suggestions to update the suggested assets.
How to edit the name of an Artboard
Changing the name of an Artboard is quick and easy.
- In the sidebar on the homepage, open the desired Artboard.
- Click the more icon at the top right of the Artboard.
- Select Rename Artboard.
- Edit Artboard name.
- Click Save.
How to remove assets from an Artboard
- In the sidebar on the homepage, open the desired Artboard.
- For Music, SFX and AI-generated voiceover, click the more icon
and select Remove from Artboard.
For Clips, Templates, LUTs, and AI-generated images and video, hover over the asset thumbnail, click the more icon, and select Remove from Artboard.
How to delete an Artboard
- In the sidebar on the homepage, open the desired Artboard.
- Click the more icon at the top right of the Artboard.
- Click Delete Artboard.
- Click Delete.
Commonly asked questions
I want to share my Artboard. Does the person I am sharing with need an account?
You can share a link to your Artboard to anyone you wish. They do not need to have an Artlist account to access it.
Is it possible to bulk download all the assets on an Artboard?
Bulk downloading is currently not possible on an Artboard. Assets need to be downloaded individually.
Can I create Artboards with a free Trial account?
Yes, you can create Artboards with a free Trial account. Once you subscribe, your Artboards will stay intact, and you’ll be able to download assets from them.
Can I reorder the assets on my Artboard?
This action is currently not supported. Assets are automatically ordered according to when they were added to the Artboard, newest to oldest.
