How to unzip/extract the folder for Windows and Mac

There are only a few steps to take to get full access to all your creative assets!

Here we'll explain the easy steps and show you common error messages.

Opening the file on Windows

On Windows operating systems, you have to unzip .zip files to be able to use the files contained within. You can unzip a .zip file from the file explorer by right-clicking it and selecting "extract all":

A window will open asking you where to save the extracted file, simply press "Extract" to extract it in the same directory as the .zip file (e.g. downloads):

Navigate to the project file (example below shows an After Effects Project File with the .aep file format) and double click on it to open. As long as you have the appropriate software installed on your system, the template project should open after a few moments.

Please Note: Make sure you extract the whole package: moving an .aep or .pproj file away from the footage files will break the links. 👍

Opening the file on Mac

For Mac users, the process to unzip files is also nice and easy!

Head to your downloads folder and locate the .zip file. It will look like this! To unzip the folder, simply double click on it and it will extract into the same folder.

Next just move the whole folder to your designated folder, or open the project.

Now that your project is open, you’re ready to start editing your template!
