You can quickly trim your shots in the Editor to keep only the sections you need for your project.
Open the Editor
- From the top menu on the Artlist homepage, navigate to Studio.
- Open the project you want to edit.
- In the left-hand menu, click the bottom icon to open the Editor.
Note: You can navigate between projects from the Project dropdown.
Add Shots to the Timeline
- Select the folder that contains the footage you want to use.
- Choose or drag and drop the shots you want to add to the timeline.
Note: Toggle Drafts “On” to show all your shots and not just your active ones.
Trim a Shot
- In the timeline, select the shot you want to trim. The selected shot will appear in the main preview frame
- Adjust the trim handles at the beginning and end of the shot.
- Drag the start point to set where the clip should begin.
- Drag the end point to set where the clip should end.
- Once you've selected the section you want to keep, click the appropriate Trim icon to apply the cut.
Timeline Controls
The top-left menu of the timeline includes the following actions:
- Undo – Revert the last action.
- Redo – Restore the last undone action.
- Trim Start – Trim the beginning of the selected shot.
- Trim End – Trim the end of the selected shot.
- Split – Divide a shot into two separate clips.
- Delete – Remove the selected shot from the timeline.
Timeline View and Export Options
The top-right menu of the timeline allows you to:
- Zoom In / Zoom Out – Increase or decrease the timeline's visual frame rate to view your shot in greater or less detail.
- Export – Export all your edited Editor shots together as one file to your computer.
Tips
- Select a shot before attempting to trim it.
- Use Zoom In for more precise trimming adjustments.
- If you make a mistake, use Undo to quickly revert your changes.
