The Credit Control dashboard has been renamed and expanded to Credit usage & limits. This article explains how team admins and managers can track team-wide AI credit spend, drill into usage by member, asset type, and model, and manage per-member limits.
*Relevant only for teams with access to AI features
With this tool, you can:
- See your team's overall credit balance and where you stand in the current billing cycle
- Monitor real-time credit usage per team member
- See a breakdown of team credit spend by asset type and by model
- Review a full history of every credit event across the team, going back up to 12 months
- Set limits to control individual consumption
- Allocate credits efficiently across your team
- Restrict or restore access when needed
This helps prevent overuse, optimize resource distribution, and plan production more effectively.
Note: Studio credits are not yet included in this view — support for Studio generations is coming shortly.
Accessing Credit Usage & Limits
- On the top-right of the Toolkit, click the Avatar icon.
- Click on the Credit usage & limits tab.
By default, the page shows the current billing cycle. Use the cycle selector at the top of the page to view a previous cycle. When viewing a past cycle, the page becomes read-only — you won't be able to change limits or grant credits until you switch back to the current cycle.
Balance & cycle card
At the top of the page, the balance card shows your team's credit pool and where you stand in the current cycle: total credits, credits used, credits remaining, and the renewal date. Switching the cycle selector updates this card along with the rest of the page.
Your team's credit usage
This table lists every team member and their credit consumption for the selected cycle.
- Members are sorted by credits used, highest first. Members who've hit their limit and can no longer generate are pinned to the top so they're easy to spot.
- Use the Search members field to quickly find someone by name.
- Members with zero credit usage this cycle are hidden by default to keep the list focused — click Show all members at the bottom of the list to reveal them.
- Columns show credits used (plus their limit, if one is set) along with a breakdown by Voiceovers, Videos, Images, and Songs.
- A member's subtitle under "Credits used" will read "Can't generate" if they've hit their limit, or show what percentage of total team usage they represent otherwise.
This view helps you make informed decisions about credit allocation.
Credit spend
The Credit spend card gives you a visual breakdown of where your team's credits are going.
- Toggle between By asset type (voiceover, image, video, music) and By model to see spend broken down differently.
- Segments are sorted from highest to lowest spend.
- When viewing By model, the top models are shown individually; smaller or less-used models are grouped into an "Other" segment. Hover over "Other" to see every model it includes, or click it to open the full breakdown.
- If your team hasn't generated anything yet this cycle, this card will show a placeholder until usage begins.
Job history
The Job history table logs every credit event across your team — going back up to 12 months.
- Columns: Completed at, Model, Member, Action, Credits.
- Each event is tagged with an action type: Spent (credits deducted for a successful generation), Refunded (credits returned for a failed or cancelled job), or Granted (an admin or system top-up).
- Failed generations show as "Failed – not charged" instead of a credit amount.
- Use the filters on the Model, Member, and Action columns to narrow down the table, or use the search field to find a specific member, model, or job.
- Use the page-size selector to show 10, 25, 50, or 100 rows at a time.
Setting a credit limit
For a Single Member
To limit how many credits a specific team member can use:
- On the top-right of the Toolkit, click the Avatar icon.
- Click on the Credit usage & limits tab.
- Click the More icon (three-dot menu) next to the member's name
- Select Set credit limit.
- Enter the desired number of credits.
- Note: The limit cannot exceed your team's total available credits
- Click Set to apply.
Removing a Limit
To remove a credit limit:
- On the top-right of the Toolkit, click the Avatar icon.
- Click on the Credit usage & limits tab.
- Click the More icon (three-dot menu) next to the member
- Select Remove credit limit.
Note: Limit changes take effect on the member's next generation, not retroactively.
Setting limits for multiple members
You can apply limits to multiple users at once.
- On the top-right of the Toolkit, click the Avatar icon.
- Click on the Credit usage & limits tab.
- Select the checkboxes next to the relevant team members.
- An action bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Set credit limit.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Same amount for all members – assign a fixed limit to each selected user
- Split equally – divide a total credit amount evenly among selected users (toggle required)
- Enter the amount and apply.
This is especially useful when distributing credits across teams or projects.
Restricting member access
You can completely prevent a user from generating content if needed.
- On the top-right of the Toolkit, click the Avatar icon.
- Click on the Credit usage & limits tab.
- Click the More icon (three-dot menu) next to the member's name.
- Select Remove access.
Once access is removed, the user will not be able to use credits or generate assets. They will retain access to the stock catalog.
Restoring Access
To restore access:
- On the top-right of the Toolkit, click the Avatar icon.
- Click on the Credit usage & limits tab.
- Click the More icon (three-dot menu) next to the member.
- Select Restore access.
Requesting more credits as a team member
If a member has hit their limit or been blocked, they can send a credit request directly to their admin. Admins will receive an email with the request.
When to use credit limits?
Consider using credit limits when:
- You're managing a shared team budget
- You want to prevent overuse by specific members
- You're allocating credits per project or department
- You need tighter control during high-production periods
How to use Credit usage & limits effectively
To get the most value out of the dashboard, it's important to go beyond just viewing data:
Monitor Trends, Not Just Totals
Use the Credit spend breakdown to see which asset types and models are driving usage over time. This helps identify:
- High-demand workflows
- Inefficiencies or repeated generation
- Opportunities to standardize processes
Align Usage with Roles
Different roles naturally consume credits differently:
- Designers → higher image/video usage
- Marketers → mixed usage
- Content creators → voiceover + images
Compare usage relative to role expectations, not just raw numbers.
Spot Bottlenecks Early
If a team member is running low on credits mid-cycle, check the Job history to see if they're over-generating or experimenting excessively.
Best practices for managing credits per team member
Set Clear Usage Guidelines
Define expectations such as:
- When to use high-cost outputs (e.g., video)
- When to iterate vs. finalize
- Acceptable experimentation limits
Encourage Efficient Prompting
Better prompts = fewer retries = lower credit usage
- Promote prompt templates or examples
- Share successful outputs across the team
- Adjust monthly based on actual usage patterns
Review Usage Regularly
- Weekly check-ins for active teams
- Monthly reviews for planning and optimization
Identify and Share Best Practices
Highlight team members who:
- Produce high-quality outputs with fewer credits
- Use tools efficiently
Encourage knowledge sharing to improve overall team performance.
Prevent Credit Waste
Watch for:
- Repeated similar generations
- Unused or abandoned outputs
- Overuse of expensive formats (like video)
